Carbon Disclosure Project - CDP
greeneye, in collaboration with the Maala Index at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange has initiated the launching of the Carbon Disclosure Project in Israel.
Up to date, four Israeli investment houses have joined the initiative: IBI, Altshuler Shacham, Tamir Fishman and KCPC – Private Equity.
Currently, we are liaising with additional Israeli investment houses and banks that will join the initiative in the near future. This a preparation process for the entry of Israeli companies to the global list of companies that report on their carbon footprint.
The CDP is an international initiative in which over 3,000 of the largest corporations in the world, report annually on their carbon emissions and on their climate change risks mitigation strategy.
Whilst all around the world investors become increasingly interested in the climate change risk mitigation strategies of their investees, our role is to help the investors who are interested in Israeli companies to reach the information they need to make wise investment choices.
Principles of Responsible Investment - PRI
The PRI is an international initiative for the advancement of Socially Responsible Investments (SRI). In 2008, about 400 funds and investment houses were signatories to the PRI managing capital to the total value of $ 14 trillion.
greeneye is the official representative of the PRI in Israel and is working to add Israeli signatories to the initiative.
The initiative's principles include an obligation to use environmental criteria in the risks analysis of investment portfolios, an obligation to consider the environmental-social dimension in the investment policy, a demand for transparency and reporting of the investees on their social responsibility strategies and performance and the assimilation of the principles in the industry.
