greeneye has set the goal of advancing the implementation of ethical screening in Israeli pension funds.
Up to date, the principles of SRI have yet to be implemented in Israeli pension funds, despite the clear potential. SRI principles may be applied to a range of financial assets including corporate bonds, stocks, loans, trust funds and ETNs. As of December 2006, the percentage of these financial assets in Israeli contractual savings portfolios was 43% - ILS 254 billion.
Since one of the characteristics of pension funds is long term investments, it is expected that environmental, social and ethical issues which are characterized by the same horizon will become an inseparable part of the considerations used in building such investment portfolios.
